How to enroll your child in the nursery?

Kindergarten My Friends and Me Oberkorn

Find out how to get a place in a nursery in Luxembourg and in your city.

Follow the different steps for the registration and admission of your child to one of our host establishments KidsCare.

Once you have registered, take advantage of a week of familiarization to welcome your young child gently.

Enroll your child in a nursery KidsCare

The first step in obtaining a place in a collective nursery is pre-registration. Contact an advisor directly KidsCare dedicated. To do this, you can fill out the contact form on our site or contact the head office. Don't forget to leave your contact details to be called back quickly.

Our teams will then contact you. We learn together to get to know and understand your different needs. Either you already know the reception structure in which you wish to enroll your child, or we present them to you to help you make your choice.

The choice of private nursery can be made according to the proximity to your family home or your place of employment. The time amplitude of each structure is also to be taken into account.

Each nursery and childcare system has its specificities and criteria which it is important to know in order to make the right choice.

Pre-registration does not validate a nursery place for your child. The families are not involved in anything. It is only the registration that definitively reserves the reception in one of our structures.

If the nursery you have chosen has reached the maximum possible number of children accommodated, we offer two solutions:

- Join the waiting list

- Choose another host structure KidsCare.

Once the nursery KidsCare chosen, we offer you a first appointment to visit it and meet our educational teams.

Visit the nursery and confirm registration

During the first appointment in the structure of your choice, you will meet our educational teams and the director. They will show you around the nursery and all its living areas: the common room and its activities for the children, the bedroom, the treatment room, the place where meals are taken, the garden, etc.

Our early childhood professionals will also introduce you to the educational project Kidscare Luxemburg. This project defines the main axes of reception of your child. It is very important and is based on the pedagogies Pikler et Montessori. It guides all types of activities offered by our staff in our nurserys.

During the first appointment, you can ask all the questions you want. The reception of the parents is just as important as that of the child, especially if it takes place during pregnancy. We are committed to explaining everything to you so that you approach the separation calmly and with confidence.

If the nursery visited is suitable for you, we will then confirm the registration. We are taking steps to manage your registration file. You will need to provide a set of documents: birth certificate, proof of address, proof of income, medical certificate, copy of the vaccination record, etc.

From this moment, your child's place in the nursery is reserved for him/her definitively.

Admission to your child's nursery

Once you have registered, the manager and the educational manager dedicated to your child offer you a date for starting the nursery. Parents must be able to make themselves available for the first so-called familiarization week.

This week allows for a smooth separation with the parents. The nursery must become a well-known and reassuring place for the child. We therefore proceed step by step by observing his reactions and those of his parents.

For the first few days, the child stays in the nursery for only one hour, accompanied by his mum and dad. He can participate in the activities or only observe them. The following days, he participates in meal time and can even stay for a nap. On the last day, a first short separation is made.

Our nursery network KidsCare adapts to all situations to best meet your needs! Contact our advisers to start your registration now in one of our nurserys.
