Procedures with the nursery during a move

If you move and your child is accommodated in one of our nurseries in Luxembourg, you will have to follow several steps to change your address.

Several options are available to you depending on your change of situation.

 

What steps should you take if you move but do not change nursery?

The first situation is when you move house but do not need to change private nursery.

Indeed, your new accommodation is close to the places you are leaving. The location of the nursery is therefore always just as practical for you.

You may also have chosen a nursery close to your job, in which case moving your home does not affect the proximity of the nursery.

If you find yourself in this situation, it is very simple. You just need to update your new address. You will need to provide us with proof of address of your new accommodation so that the changes are taken into account in your file, both for administration KidsCare and for your child's nursery.

You will also need to send us a new insurance certificate with the updated address of your accommodation.

It is important for us and for the your children's safety that your contact details are always up to date and complete.

 

What steps to take if you move and want to change childcare KidsCare ?

 

The second possible situation occurs if you move away from your city and can no longer leave your child in his current nursery.

In that case, KidsCare accompanies you to find another place in our network of nurseries which suits you best. We make you proposals according to the places available in the other municipalities.

If we do not have a place to offer you immediately, you can continue to take your child to their current nursery while waiting for another place to become available.

If a place is available, we will update your registration file. You will resume the familiarization process as in your old nursery. A first meeting will be organized so that you can discover the structure and the educational team.

Once the new registration is finalized, an adaptation week will be scheduled. Indeed, even if your child has already been cared for in a nursery KidsCare, he needs to find his bearings in this new environment. He will be accompanied by his dedicated educator to take his marks step by step.

He will be integrated into his new host group at his own pace and with kindness. A move is a big event for a child. Our early childhood professionals will be especially attentive to accompany your child in this big step.

 

What steps should you take if you move and change schools?

 

If your child changes schools during the school year, contact your host institution to agree on schedule adjustments.

Transport between the day center and the school is provided by mini-buses. Make sure the home your child is in can serve their new school.

Parents can obtain proof of schooling from the new school or the town hall and send it to the day center. They must also carry out all the administrative formalities relating to the move.
