Everything you need to know about day centers

Babilou Family Luxembourg

Day centers are reception facilities for families with young children. These establishments welcome children aged 4 to 12 years old. They play an important role for families by providing a safe and stimulating environment for children, while allowing parents to balance their professional and family lives.

What is a day center?

A day center is an educational establishment intended to accommodate children during the day outside school hours. They are designed for children of all ages, from the youngest to the oldest, and offer an environment adapted to their specific needs.

Day homes KidsCare are located near the schools served. In addition, we have a minibus at our disposal to ensure the children's daily travel.

The mission of day centers is to support children in their personal and social development while ensuring their health and well-being. Additionally, they are a good solution for working parents who cannot pick up their children directly after school.

The teams support the children in their daily lives. They offer a wide range of educational, cultural and games activities. They also help them with their homework in German, French and English. These activities are carefully planned and supervised by qualified professionals to guarantee quality supervision.

How do day centers work?

Day centers provide a rich and varied environment that allows children to discover new experiences and learn in a fun way. Everything is structured around a series of activities and workshops which aim to stimulate their intellectual, social and emotional development.

The services offered

Within day centers KidsCare, children benefit from quality care and support: emotional and physical security, organic meals and cultural discoveries. The establishments are equipped to ensure their safety and comfort. Health services are available to meet their medical needs, and meals served are tailored to their nutritional needs. The structures themselves are designed to provide a safe and conducive environment for learning.

Educational and cultural activities

Day homes focus on developing children's academic and social skills. Cooking workshops, artistic activities, educational games and other educational activities are offered to encourage their creativity and curiosity. These activities are designed to be age-appropriate for each child, allowing for appropriate learning based on each child's individual needs and pace.

Professional supervision

One of the main characteristics of day homes is the professional supervision that children benefit from. A qualified and dedicated team ensures their well-being, safety and development. This team is trained to understand the specific needs of each child and to support their development attentively, outside of school hours.

Reception throughout the day

Day homes KidsCare are open for most of the day, from 7 a.m. to 19 p.m. This allows working parents to drop off their children in the morning and pick them up at the end of the day, which is especially helpful for those with full-time jobs.

The differences between day centers and nurserys

It is important to note that day homes differ from day care centers in several ways.

1. Age of children welcomed

In nursery, children are between 2 months and 4 years old. Subsequently, they enter school. Day centers welcome children aged 4 to 12.

2. Hours and reception times

Day centers are open from 7 a.m. to 19 p.m., Monday to Friday, like the vast majority of our daycare centers. However, the homes welcome children outside of school hours.

3. Broader educational approach and numerous services

Day centers offer a different and more extensive educational approach than nurseries, because the children are older, with greater differences.

They offer a variety of activities that aim to promote children's overall development, including social and cultural. Cooking workshops, for example, allow children to develop practical skills while exploring their creativity.

4. Specific supervision

The professional teams who work in day homes are trained to meet the specific needs of children of all ages. This means that, whether your child is 4 or 10 years old, he or she will benefit from appropriate support.

Within nurseries, Early Childhood professionals are particularly qualified to understand and support the development of little ones.
