What are the objectives of EJE training?

The training to become an Early Childhood Educator aims to enable future professionals to acquire the skills necessary to intervene effectively within the various Early Childhood structures where they will work. The training objectives include the following:

  • Promote the development of young children: EJEs are trained to understand the stages of childhood development and to design educational activities and projects adapted to each child.
  • Working in a team: EJEs are often required to work in collaboration with other Early Childhood professionals, such as nursery assistants, nurses, but also external workers.

What studies to do and what diplomas to obtain to become an EJE?

To know : French people holding a DEEJE, a State Diploma recognized by the Ministry of National Education, Children and Youth (MENJE) and the Ministry of Higher Education and Research (MESR), can apply for an EJE position in Luxembourg. In fact, this diploma is recognized as equivalent to the Luxembourg diploma.

The State Educator diploma, registered in the register of titles and classification, is a prerequisite for working as an EJE in Luxembourg. It is issued by higher education schools and universities.

To know : as a nursery assistant, it is possible to become an educator by passing a VAE EJE (Validation of Acquired Experience).

What is the training course?

The training course to become an EJE in Luxembourg takes place over several years - 3 years including 15 months of field training.
